Freeloaders getting closer?

I hatched my beautiful mutts june 3rd and have been impatiently being patient on getting some beautiful colored eggs the four girls Olive ,Hazel,Daisy and Coaster are almost 21 weeks old and have shown absolutely no signs of being close to laying until today I have two older pullets that have been laying for about a month now and two of the younger ladys are being noisy Nancy's watching Delta in the box then they started sing the egg song for her lol

..so im hoping that means the freeloading days will be over soon

None of those bird appear ready to lay, still rather pale in comb and wattle.
It's hard to wait!

Agreed, none of them look ready to lay. Assuming you are in the northern hemisphere, they may start laying late due to shorter daylight hours over the next few months.

ok ok i'll be patient for another month , I just would love to have more then brown and tan colored eggs , just got me excited that they are now showing interest in the boxes and signing the egg song .

I have an EE that is coming up on 24 weeks and her comb and face have very recently become a bright red. She squatted today for the first time and her pelvic bones are almost two fingers. You can check your birds pelvis if youre curious!

Here were are 22 w 1d and still no eggs from these lovely ladies . All are starting to turn nicely red on their combs except Daisy my little half shell but she has had a rough start from the beginning when I got eggs to incubate hers had a hole in it and despite all odds she made it hince why I call her half shell by the time she hatched it was only half the normal space in the egg.
Welp hoping that next month I'll be have some beautiful green eggs.

25 weeks and still just enjoying laying around getting fat no eggs from these lazy gals yet!! But Hazel looks soooo close to being ready can't wait hopefully i get some blue/green eggs from my beautiful mutts.
