Freeranging Muscovies?

So sorry you lost your goose

I got 6 black/white pied muscovy girls from a friend of mine, and she let them free range. She told me that hers would fly to nearby ponds but would always return. I have them in a pen with nylon netting over the top. I don't want them flying to my neighboring ponds for fear they will be shot. I clipped their wings when I took them out the pet carriers and put them into the covered pen(just in case they got out they would not be able to fly away). I noticed the other day their wing feathers have already grown back in. When I start raising young one I have decided to pinion them as soon as they hatch, then I won't have to worry about them flying around.
