I have about 25 hens that I got first of April. It is now December and not one egg. I am done feeding them. This weekend they are all going to the freezer.

Guess I will maybe try again in spring. I may be done with chickens.

PLEASE DONT! WAIT!!! There gonna be tougher now and + If you wait next spring you will be haveing bundles of eggs. Why start all over in spring.

give your girls time. I have the same problem with mine, but i'm waiting it out. be patient they will start to produce and when they do you"ll be happy you waited.

What breed are they? Some breeds are slower maturing and lay later than most.

25 hens and no eggs ... oh my!
I would be discouraged too.
Instead of harvesting ALL of them, keep a few.
They'll start to lay soon.

My girls (I only have 4) started laying last week.
They're 24 weeks old - one has been laying everyday since Dec 1st.
Another one started yesterday but nothing today from her.
The other two are still moochin'

Be Patient - don't put them all in the freezer.

They all slow down this time of year; if they were JUST getting to POL when the days began to shorten, they won't begin to lay until spring. If you DO wish to get rid of them, please consider giving them or selling them to someone before the freezer camp step!

Remember: the average time it takes for a pullet to begin laying is 24 weeks.

WAAAIIIIT!

At LEAST post a pic so we can verify you didn't get all mutant boys!

These are the most pampered birds alive. Eat well, plus scraps, I talk to them, hold them, even name most, let them out to free range. Have nice warm roost, clean fresh water. You name it.

Ten are Barred Rocks Ten are Black Australoups and Five are a mix breed.

Have about waited all I will, telling you, their days are numbered. Unless someone can tell me something new.
