Freezer Camp For The Whole Flock!!!!!!!!!

Calf Manna for 2 weeks helped mine start laying. Then I put a heatlight bulb in the coop to keep them warm and they all started laying.

All they need is longer days and maybe calf manna for a couple weeks. It is worth a shot... they just need that extra little push.

Winter is a time for them to be naturally not laying so keep that in mind. They probably came of age at the same time as the winter shortened daylight...

Please wait till Spring. YOu will be so glad that you did... Nutri Booster and Calf Manna are the same thing..

You could add a light and turn it off at 10 pm.... each night.... and give them 14 days of Calf Manna.... and I bet you will have eggs before the 14 days is up...

WOW!

Well I did just get back from my deer lease today. Haven't been on a computer since last Thursday.

Well there was no big BarBQue. Not one chicken lost its life, at my place.

I did increase the light in the barn also added some heat. Also, less scratch and more laying crumbles.

My hens get to free range some, but only when I am there. They sometimes go for a week or more without getting let out, so an egg would appear at some point. Normally, they are in a pen that is about 150 by 80.

No, really don't think they are laying anywhere, not under barn, in bushes, just are not laying. And no, really don't think anyone is stealing them. I just don't think they are laying.

Anyway, since many of you said that you had some older and they still are not laying, I am giving them until the spring. I seriously thought I might have just gotten the bunch of hens that were deformed or something and they would never lay. Hence, the starting over next year. From a different breeder of course. I seriously thought something was wrong with all of them. Now if by March, they are not laying, I will get rid of them.

Now for those of you who said, some people shouldn't get animals if they expect them to be machines.

Your goofy, and overly opinionated. HA.

Now to the people who said I was "trolling." I never even heard the term till now. Well you are just too jaded. Ha. Come on, if things don't go like you think, you don't have to start being so negative. Relax. I promise, I meant no ill will. I just don't live on this stupid computer. I don't run in to check it.

Anyway, to all that gave what I consider good advise, thanks.

To those who gave stupid advise,

well, that's okay too, since it is only my opinion that it was stupid advise.

HA.

I will certainly let you know what becomes of the saga of the "Hens That Would Not Lay."

Now I am off to process my deer, and my thrist for blood has been quinched.

My girlfriend has Americanas(sorry for spelling) and they have all stopped laying as of this fall and will probably not start up again until springtime. My Grandmother(87yrs.) was VERY surprised that my chickens(hatched June1st) two of them have started laying now ...and she said all of their chickens were always closer to at least a year old before they ever got any eggs! So I guess times may have changed a bit? Anyway, I would NOT start all over again...just impatiently wait it out and don't feed them the expensive stuff until they really need it...if they're not ready to lay eggs yet then don't waiste your &(just my humble opinion) Blessings, Keri

Now if you take my advise that I posted before sure you will have eggs in a few weeks. ONLY feed layer no scratch, 16 hr of light. telling you its a sure thing!!!!!
