Tonight is going to be very cold and I need to know how to heat up a chicken coop without using any type of light because it could catch on fire. I only have three chickens, so their house is a small wooden box. Any ideas?

I'm not sure how to do it without putting a heat lamp in there. Do you have a garage or shed you could move them into on cold nights? If that's not possible, the only other thing I can think of is maybe stacking up hay or straw bales around the outside of the box for insulation...

Perhaps put in basement or garage in large dog crate. It will be 13 degrees here overnight, and my chickens do fine in a coop without heat. Hopefully you can find something larger for colder weather.
