Freezing rain is just about my biggest headache. We have an ongoing event now and it is a mess. Walking just a 100 yards is very difficult. Does build up your inner thighs, but you need to stop once cramping starts. My female pointer ran through a group of poultry and all of a certain that started cackling like crazy. She fell and slid where she could not get up easily. She may have had last laugh as some chickens flew about a hundred feet and tried to land on the wet ice where they also took a spill. Normally my gravel is the best for walking when weather is bad. Currently it is better to walk on grass and that requires effort as well.

We had weather similar to you last week. My grandpa's horse fell on the ice and got stuck, it was down for a few hours before a guy in a truck was able to pull him up to the barn.

That was the same for me last week. The ice is still here and we live on a big hill. This morning I had to check the swan feeder down by the pond and I pretty much slid down the whole way. Also when I let the cranes out for their flights they took a few spills. Lol

Like my buddy Bo sez: YAX TRAX!!
Thanks. I just put those on my Amazon wish list.
I recall one ice storm we had and it was all I could do to get down the hill to change flock water. At one point I was on my knees sliding. I had a bright idea that I would use some slip ons shoes for aerating that my husband had bought years prior. They would have worked better had they not been so big. I kept having to readjust strips to keep them on my feet. I would not recommend buying them since they don't stay on well but they did get me safely down the hill.
