Freezing water

Good morning, and welcome to BYC. Try posting this in your home state thread, and perhaps someone there will have a solution. Only thing that I know is frequent water changes.

:welcome welcome friend. If you do have electricity you can get a heated base or heated waterer (only works to a certain degree I was displeased with mine) if you dont you can try black rubber pan or black plastic dog food bowls (that's what we use) not perfect but its it unfrozen longer. I also read some where pingpong balls in the blow will churn the water to slow the freezing as well.

I agree with Folly's Place. Black rubber bowls are your best choice. If you do not have electricity somewhere near the coop you will be replacing frozen water with thawed water at least twice a day all winter. In the past some have said to add glycerin to the water. When someone researched that it was found that the amount of glycerin needed to lower the freezing temperature of water just a few degrees was excessive.
