French Black Copper Maran: any hope this is a pullet?

I have a 7 week old FBCM... obvious comb, but VERY pale. And minimal wattles. Any hope for this one or should I just cry now and move to acceptance?

I want to say pullet but, for 7 weeks old, it seems slow to feather out another photo at 10 weeks should be more defining.

Agree that it seems awfully small for 7 weeks, but chicks develop at different rates sometimes. The comb is large but not so large that it's definitely a cockerel. Give it a few more weeks and try again.

we have a BCM i swore from very early on it was a boy it did a lot of chest bumping with another one clearly a boy- but although it had comb pretty early and pinkish, it never grew any larger and it turned out a pullet just laid its irst egg- so there is hope for the people on the fence.. just wait and pray

cockerels and pullets will both chest bump. That's not a defining characteristic of a cockerel.

I’m voting pullet for now, however, post pics again in 3 weeks or so for better assessments. My BCM pullet always had a slightly larger comb and wattles since she was 4wo. However, it was always pale pink. Most BCM cockerels are pretty obvious since early on.

I'm voting Pullet. Very slow to feather tho.

Pullet! At 7 weeks my BCM cockerels have very pink wattles and combs. IMHO!
