French Black Copper Marans made this???

I have about 20 FBCM... Jean/Davis/LP lines. Well.... this is what hatched from their eggs a couple months ago. What color form are these considered to be????
.... they’re not white. I hatched 2 pullets about 3 weeks apart. Only 1 is pictured.

Yes they are, although they lay much lighter brown eggs.

Perhaps it is a Lavender Marans? I have emailed Marans expert breeder Bev Davis with a link to this pic. It will be really interesting to see what she says.

Lavender based Marans, the black shanks will rule out any sex linked barring

Well part of this gene pool it came from are Bev Davis and she is working with Lavender Marans. OOPs, mistake, Bev is not working with Lavender Marans. Just about every other color, tho.
How would the lavender make its way thru the mating of 2 Black Copper Marans to show up again?

ok here are 4 people working with Lavender Marans. the one site says Lavender is recessive and hides under Black until a favorable color mating lets it come forth.

interesting tidbits here, esp. lightness of eggs of original flock. plus This breeder hs darkened their Lav eggs. Maybe get a nice cockerel here and breed some Lavenders?

Nicalandia, do you have ideas on how Lavender progressed thru the gene pool to show up in a Black Copper mating? Couple of these sites discuss Black-split-to-Lavender birds.
