Jay found me something marvelous, he was overseeing a trash out at one of the houses. It is a surge protector with a battery pack built in. I have the incubator plugged in. No more power outage worries. I just need another one now for the brooder.

Heres a link that outlines them, says that system gave us 10 confirmed tornados, closest to me was in Alexandria which is a ways off, there were three in MS north of you, two F1s and an F2.

Yes ma'am, BR hada good reason to earlier, its the same system and its pretty dangerous. My dad almost made me when he called to make sure i was okay. Alex (where our tornado was) is two hours away from me, i think the tornados in MS were about three from where chicapee lives. 14000 people without power, including her :/

I don't think we get too many natural disasters here. In SoCal, we always had small earthquakes and were always wondering when "the big one" will hit; lots of brushfires, and then mudslides in the burn areas.

Where I live now we need to worry about fires in the Bosque (cottonwood forest), dust storms rolling off of the desert, and flash flooding I guess.

Mother Nature is certainly nothing to mess with!
