You need another pen... I would run a test batch off Josh... keep only the boys, DO NOT keep the pullets... grow them out til adult molt and see if any come out good w/out leakage...

I've been thinking about that. Josh is so beefy, good attitude, and beautiful comb and muff. Only the boys would show the leakage and the girls would be carriers, right?

Exactly... that was what I almost had to do until I got Elvis back and the Lav boy...

I like Josh with his different color beard.....

The contrast of the beard on the blue is much better than the splash or black. He has good edging in his breast, too. I had another blue cockerel that was just as pretty with no leakage. Sold him for $10

The blues coming from the splash rooster and black hens are extremely dark chicks. That's what Oz has, and what I'm keeping next week. I'm hoping to get a good cockerel with a lower tail set than Jack

so that is a blue rooster.

and the hens, what do they look like? blue rooster and blue hen, produce blue chicks?

blacks with blues produce splash?
