French frogs

I think this is the first offspring that ive had from my Silverlace Wyandotts over my Levander Wyandotte. You can see there's some specs on the feathers anyone have experience with this? Maybe it'll turn into some sort of lacing? The black legs are coming from the black legs from the Orpington they used to get the lavender from. I will have to breed that out over time. This guy is split for lavender. Can't wait to see how he grows out.

Interesting... would like to see how it turns out... curious... what Orp did they use that caused the black legs? I've just never seen that before...

snowflakes!

I have no idea how that frosting will turn out, but that is pretty.

Walnut, I did an early spot check candle last night... fertility looks good so far! :thumbsup

Mine wasn't quite that extreme, but it was the black/lav split orpington.

She is solid black now.

Hatched last April:

This was in June, last year.

I am going to candle my Easter hatchers tonight, as well as the turkey eggs from the last set of 10 subfreezing temp eggs. I'm at 8 days now so I should be able to tell on even the dark brown shells. I don't think any of the turkey eggs started but I am not surprised...those were from when we were out of town and most if not all were likely frozen before collecting as the kids are both at work until evening.

I have 15 Appenzeller Spitzhaubens (11 Silver Spangled, 4 blue) and a dozen of my F2 EEs to set. I'll get those in so when it's time to hatch I will not be in such a pinch for space in the hatcher. What WAS I thinking?
