I always do both sides... if a predator goes after them, one side will make their escape pattern predictable... I'd rather they didn't circle around right into an open mouth...
Once they knew what I was doing, it got interesting... and found out the enclosure pool needs to be cleaned...

Thanks... as I told frmboy though, I do both sides...
Both... I clipped my adult breeders I brought in, my older ones stay above our yard when they take short flights... the kids I try to let them learn to fly before clipping... earlier groups learned the boundaries well so I didn't... this last bunch is a bit more hot headed though...

Or just did not understand the 'point' of doing it. But it does not mean it was pointless, but that I somehow missed the point.

So I laugh at the little monkey who got blown away by his own 'wiffyness' it does not mean I get pointless.
Besides. That poor little chimp was just funny.
Maybe I am too dense for the higher forms of humor.

That makes sense. I've done it with my chickens to try to keep them in the yard. But I haven't done it for a while. It is time again.

Even clipped chickens can go over a 6 ft fence... net it...

Ya'll really would have been laughing if you'd seen my face. I literally did a double take & then started rubbing my eyes. I sighed loudly & Mark asked me what was wrong. I told him I must be spending too much time on here...making me go cross eyed!

Can't net the entire back yard when I let them free range. I was worried about them going over my backyard fence into the yard with the neighbors german shepherds or the english mastiff. Surprisingly, in 3 years, one hasn't done it yet. On my to do list this summer is to scrap the current run and build a covered run. Still designing it in my head though.

Can't net the entire back yard when I let them free range. I was worried about them going over my backyard fence into the yard with the neighbors german shepherds or the english mastiff. Surprisingly, in 3 years, one hasn't done it yet. On my to do list this summer is to scrap the current run and build a covered run. Still designing it in my head though. 

I have a small area fenced off that I will let the older girls out in when I'm home. It's only a 3 foot bird net fence, but only one barred Rock has figured out she can fly over it. She'll fly out, start scratching in the yard, and the rest of them will crowd the fence and look at her like "Wow"
