:yiipchick just got word my boys and their girlfriends are coming to visit, we are gonna grill out and shoot some guns! e

Now THAT sounds like fun. My Dad taught me how to shoot guns from little on up! My Nana lived in Oklahoma and my Dad would throw Dr Pepper cans in the old red river and we would shoot the cans! It was so much fun!

Cool. I knew someone at the beach in CA who grew Ice Cream Bananas (Blue Java). They were delicious!

Nope, I'm sticking with rooster...
The more I thought about it last night, the more excited I got. It's the perfect solution for me. Let Jack crank out splash and blues for a few more months, keep the best, then put them with Susan's boy when he gets here. Then I have two nice pens of unrelated lines. Next spring is going to be awesome

How's your latest batch of chicks?

Only 8 made lockdown. They're due Monday, so with so few I will probably keep them all for myself. I have about 12 developing in the other incubator, and I may reset that one with AMs if I get all the girls with Jack.
How are your punk rockers?
ETA: that was extremely generous of Susan. Have you seen her black rooster, Max? He is stunning. I'm so excited

They are crazy, and kind of flighty like their Legbar mom. Curious though. They like to run away and run back. Just starting to integrate them with the big chickens. I find it easier when they are about this age (6-7 weeks) since they are fast enough to get away yet too small to be a threat.

One of my three Orloffs in that batch looks promising, very upright stature so far. We'll see how he grows out.
