you might could try hay bales too.....

I have my garden in them right now......use square bales, leave the twine around them.......stuff as much compost as you can down into them, keep watered for a for a week, plant seeds in your trays, and keep watering the bales everyday, until your seeds are ready to re-plant in the bales, use more compost.

I am going to try to set one up in my basement with plant lights for over winter. We have a much shorter growing season and I do not have a greenhouse (Maybe someday but I am putting alot of money in these meat birds this year) so maybe this would allow me year round vegetables.
But it would work great for you, you have the sun.
