I've only had that once, and he skipped the eggs and went straight for the chicks. 6ft long

Every year I have to catch at least one and relocate him to the Nat'l Forest. Always a black rat snake. Longest I ever caught was over 8ft.

That splash rooster is over 3 blacks and a very dark blue. I'm thinking the lighter blues are coming from the blue hen, and the darker blues are from the blacks. No splash? I hatched 9/12 yesterday, and 2 were splash

Yes.  I've been following a few people working on them for a while.  Was thinking of ordering hatching eggs, but that person quit breeding them.

I like mottled/spotted/spangled birds.

There was someone who was breeding them that would post occasional auctions on the 24hr auction thread last year... can't remember the name though...

You're better off that way. TJ's birds are much better than mine were
I loved them, but I'm moving more towards the AMs and BCM now. I really didn't want to build another pen. We are keeping the Silkies, but that will be it for bantams for us

All of TJ's stock is amazing... have some of her Royal Purple guinea eggs in the bator now...

Seriously?  What makes you think snake?

I haven't gotten a golden sebright egg in over a week.  Have been contemplating reasons.  A snake was a thought, but the OE's are in a pen right next door and I'm still getting eggs from them.  I did notice one of the girls in the nest box yesterday for a while, but still no egg.  I am hoping its the cold snap that we had, and that they will turn around now that the weather has gotten pretty again. 

Bantams are so finicky... they seem to lay in spurts no matter what... but too many overcast days will make them slow or stop too...
