So it's just eggs that go through an altitude change, correct?
It only affects eggs that are incubated at a higher altitude than where they were laid. Eggs that are at the same altitude, or eggs that travel "downhill" are OK.

2/3 of the population of the US lives below 1800 feet, so those chicken owners won't have this particular problem, just the normal shipping issues.

Can day old chicks be shipped to higher altitudes?
I would think so?

Shouldn't be a problem. Never really researched that though. I wonder if they would get headaches like some people do when visiting from low altitudes?

They are so fragile you'd think it might be an issue at a day old. I wonder if the mortality rate increases? Hmm....why do so many people mess with eggs? Is it the cost? But it seems like they always hatch poorly.. but the again there's lots more red tape in shipping live chicks isn't there?

Can't hatch if you don't set . and you can't sell what you don't have . I have 371 eggs in the incubators now .lus 41 more in the incubator at the school . I hope they hatch some .Its a city elementary school. and special needs class . should be exciting for them .

Drunk frog Queen. I was crowned Sunday after a couple rather drunken posts after a Rascal Flatts concert. I promise to be a lazy, useless ruler.
