On the bright side

Dan, it's just not fair.

My roses have leaf buds turning green. My lilacs are leafing out, my daffodils, hyacinths, trilliums and early tulips are blooming. Sunflowers and roses are two months away yet.

I did plant potatoes, onions and lettuce today. The ground is thawed enough. Another few weeks and I can move the tomatoes outside. It was 35 last night and will be about the same tonight.

Good deal. A few of our local chicken breeders have had rare breeding stock stolen early this spring. While obviously unrelated to your local case, it's good to see that law enforcement takes it seriously there. Here, it's "you lost a few chickens? Oh well, you can get more."

I lost everything in my greenhouse last night.....didn't realize it had gotten so cold.....good thing I had brought my banana in

Thing is everything I lost should have been cold tolerent....Ginkgo Balboa tree.....Bonsi maple.....Bonsai DawnRedwood....

Problem is they were all in the house....and leaves wereally already out.....I have some of the same trees in the yard that haven't done anything yet......they weren't used to the cold....it most have got below freezing last night...hopefully it just killed the leaves and they bounce back
