Good Morning Miss America!

How are you doing OZ? How are your chicks growing out to look? Need to post some pics!

Our hail balls were about the size of quarters.
    Are cops allowed to be afraid of insects??

No...they're not! Lol. Once when I was younger I had a wasp fly into my car. It wouldn't leave! I raced up to a police car and the guy "saved the day"! He did get that wasp out but he was hesitant! I was like 18...& seriously couldn't have drove that car with a loaded wasp on board. I could deal with a thing then as long as it didn't fly or slither!
Good morning, Miss Am!  Were you hit with the storms?  All okay there?  

Thankfully it mostly missed us but we sure got a good rain!

for us, the ticks were the worst during our drought years.....

The ticks are horrible in Missouri, especially farther south. Here in Kansas they're here and there. Worse when it's wet for sure. Used to almost see none..

Speaking of spiders, I had one crawling on my chair last night while holding my 2 little OEGB's.  Couldn't figure out why they were so insistent on crawling behind my neck, till I got up and saw the spider!  EEEK!  But spiders don't bother me as bad as some other bugs.  (mice are my nemesis!!)

Is anyone else having a horrible time with ticks this year yet?  I've found a few on my dog recently, and hubby has had too many to count on him so far!  None for me... yet...  chickens better get busy and eat up!! 

yep. Last two years have been bad for ticks here. Think I'm gonna hatch some guineas .

Me too! My Dad had a matching set of 2 pearl handled Colt pistols from the 1960s. They were sweeeeet....!

Love a lightning show except when I'm driving. We were on patrol one night during a bad storm looking for and dodging down trees. All of a sudden my partner, who was driving start screaming, hits the breaks, waving his hands in the air. I'm thinking a tree is falling us but I don't see anything. So I start screaming "What is it !!!" My partner, who is a veteran cop with a very profanity laden mouths, screams back..."a spider was on me!" . Could a shot him....
I love watching a lightning storm in the mountains!
I bet you guys have neat storm shows! Probably not as often as we do. About the Russians, my wife has me on lockdown for the same reason. We did find a great house, dog, and chicken sitter though.

You would not believe the calls Cops get dispatched to. I've been on lizard calls, snake calls, bat calls, cat calls, you name it. "Hello, this is 911 what is your emergency? There's a possum on my back porch . What's he doing? He's just sitting there...." We had a bear in a tree call once. Turned out to be a cat." Hey, but stupid, crazy, people is why I got a job!

My son is a fireman/EMT, remember? Yea... its the crazies that keep the likes of you employed.

By the way, I'm off the rest of the afternoon to go with hubby to the doc. We figure they will release him to go back to work. I sure hope so. My house looks like a cyclone went through it.
