French frogs

The exact location is TBD -- somewhere in the general area of the Portland metro -- DH's parents and my mom/sister are in that general area with the former being about 40 minutes North-ish and my mom/sister being a little over an hour to the South.....so anywhere in between will be great, jobs will have a lot to do with just where we settle. I can't wait to be living somewhere that we can wake up one day and decide to "run over to the coast for the day" again.....and to be able to see our families whenever we want.

hope the job hunt goes good there's no place like home .So keep clicking them heels Dorothy

I could handle the PNW as long as I was on the back side of the mountains. On the coastal side it's not bitter cold, it's just damp, dreary, drizzly and gray a lot of the time. Keeps things incredibly green though. (My parents are in NW Washinton)

I'm wired to run on sunshine, and if I didn't see the sun for a month straight, I'd be hanging from the rafters. That said, there are inland places up there that would be great for me,

I have family in Portland, but we do not get along anymore :D I won't hold it against you. It is a pretty town, and the Coast there is great.

You're a desert dweller and you know it got no business in a rain forest . If you didn't have to water grass you wouldn't know what to do. why I bet you even got thorns

Being with family = priceless. Going to the coast = Wonderful. The coffee = Amazing. Overcast = just not me. I had a co-worker from Portland and she missed it so much while she was in SoCal. She was counting down the days until her husband finished residency and they could go back. I hope you find a great place there!

Hey, I love the coastal side!

I love it too - but only for a weekend at a time, max.

I love ours, too. (I live in the thin green stripe going down the middle of NM along the muddy Rio Grande.) It's just the brilliant blue sky that does it for me.

Hope you can handle the sun for a little more than that - it's a long way to come visit me for just a few days!
