French frogs

Walnut that turkey's gorgeous! Now is that an ornamental or edible turkey?

this one is just a mixed color intermediate step to a really pretty color!

All domestic turkeys are VERY edible! I breed them and hatch them and choose the pretty ones I want to keep, and the rest get eaten. They are DEEEEELicious! My favorite is brined overnight then roasted over wood fire in the smoker.

There are only a couple of varieties that are not as great for meat, and that's only because their build is more "wild type". The traditional Royal Palm lines are really pretty, but very small. However, the same color pattern can be created in large turkeys. I have the genetics in my flock to make them. Wild and wild cross turkeys are also not as meaty.

Here she is today:
Good job Walnut
The same people who spent insane amounts on Labradoodles, Goldendoodles and Yorki-poos. My "mostly-border-collie" and my "half Aussie" came from a rescue. Wish I knew what they were mixed with - maybe they are worth a fortune! (LOL)
We once had a english setter / Australian Shepherd mixed every one thought he was pure bred Border collie
Do you think the Midnight Moon or the OG offspring will have the weight issues? Just curious... since the girls are much smaller am hoping they'll mix well... I can't wait to see that baby grow out!!! So happy for you! :celebrate :lau Tell them I killed the squirrel... :hugs
Shhhhhh be very very quiet on hunting squirrel......:lau

Quote: Raven how close are you to the Alabama line? I got some blacks the first year I wanted turkey. From a lady in Pinson AL. It was a 7 hr. round trip from me here. There is a lady in Robertsdale AL. that ships a few poults but I am not sure if she has blacks or not. If you want me to find out I can try.

Quote: This is a very pretty bird. It looks like a Sweetgrass mixed with something.
