French frogs

I think it's not quite as bad if you hatch out a batch of all pullet eggs, instead of mixed large and small.  Small chicks have a hard time competing with large chicks, if they are all small the field is level again.  The bigger risk is potential double  yolkers, candle first.

That's true, too... just like trying to hatch bantams and lf together... plus it's harder to regulate proper humidity for both in same bator...

X2 on the double yolkers... I won't ever set those...

what happens if you were to try and hatch a double yolk?

If both develop, they run out of room at the end... plus only one ends up in position for hatching, the other suffocates... it is extremely rare that even one survives and *usually* it has health issues...

I dunno if there's ever been a successful hatch of twins... to me, it is just not worth the risk of putting any life through that...

Many try just for the challenge or the excitement, but I'm just not comfortable with the odds... Calls are difficult enough...
