I love welding...I have all my welders home and my plasma cutter too.
Just no garage to use them. I might build a welding shed here in the spring...have fun with them Dan.

That's true, too... just like trying to hatch bantams and lf together... plus it's harder to regulate proper humidity for both in same bator...

X2 on the double yolkers... I won't ever set those...

I have 2 hens and 1 pullet laying. The last week I've gotten 3 monster size eggs (for a silkie). I didn't even think about double yolkers. I set 2 and gave one away with some other hatching eggs. I didn't candle them first. One is developing. It's a very transparent shell, so cool to candle, looks normal. The other one must have started but now just has a red circle around the yolk. Can you tell double yolkers just by candling before set?

The dark circle on the egg is just my "O" for turning purposes. But those big eggs were almost twice as big as what I've been normally getting. Even for the hens. I wonder if it because I switched to layer feed?

Last lockdown of 2015 underway...8 eggs from my fancy EEs.  I popped them in a Brinsea 20 just for fun.  Should be hatching on the 28th!

I have set pullet eggs before with good success. At least 5 are laying, and the ones that have been laying a few weeks are about 3/4 size and well rounded. The newer layers are smaller and more pointed, but I would be comfortable setting the more normal sized ones if I had enough

My Legbar resumed laying a few days ago, and they are fertile. Wonder what a 1/2 CL and 1/2 Russian Orloff would look like??
