Agreed, I think they laugh alot, but they are hard to really scared away. I think they even find a missed shot funny. They will leave while the bullets are flying, but as long as they didn't get hit they just hide out and laugh, waiting until later to return.
I've never seen one of those, but it looks like something that would send a chill down Benny's spine...
yeah it cost me that much for an oil filter and oil and I'd have to get dirty....no I'll pay my old shop to do my oil change. Plus I brought then I'm a big batch of homemade Beef Barley soup.I understand. I'm an accountant, and plan to hire someone to do my taxes once they become complicated. People are baffled by that. Sometimes, it is worth it to hire it done for as little as it costs.
So after much research and a lot of talking to people, I think I have settled on what breeds to get for meat this summer:
Cornish x- To make DH happy
Rhode Island Reds-they are heat tolerant and while I do not have some of you guys summers mid summer is hot and humid (personally I think it is all that irrigation and corn causing our humidity)
New Hampshire- good free rangers and heat tolerant
Cornish Roaster- A hybrid that is smaller then Cornish x without health problems
Dark Cornish- The guys that raise these her in BYC are rather passionate about them
Red Ranger- Heat tolerant again
I figured I would order 10 of each, this would protect me some from losses and I will try to keep the best hen of each breed (except the hybrid) back for breeding. Might try hatching next year.
So does your chicken have great potential but fails to produce as well?![]()

She's a great big BSL with a red chest. The resemblance was uncanny
I have a 2 dark cornish roos and a hen. The hen isn't laying yet, but the roos think they are big and bad.
