soon!
A couple more weeks I hope. They also need a bath. How do you wash a chicken to get the white clean?

You have to get them used to being in a cage for hours, handled, and not nervous around a lot of people. It takes time to start off slow, an hour a day, then work up to longer times. Then there is the grooming
I looked into the showing a bit last year and it does take some time for sure. I was also told by a very snobby show breeder that "you don't keep show birds like regular poultry, not even close!". I'm not sure what that means since that's all she would bark at me when I asked what you do differently.

Anyone here show? Do you keep the birds solo in a special area? I can see not breeding if they are pullets since they lose feathers.

I have a real problem and I need your help folks. After hatching 4 consecutive batches of eggs I realized that my new Foley cockerel is only breeding with the other SLW and NOT the other girls I put in with him. I see them near him all the time so they aren't avoiding him. How do I get him interested in the other ladies?

ETA: I put extra girls in there because he's wearing the pretty feathers off my Foley girl.

I have posted for advice on the ABC forum, and am curious to see what they say. Short of that, I have thought the same thing you suggest, keeping show birds separate from the main flock. It just seems like it would make more sense to spend more time with them than the breeders
