Cornish x Rock hatchery birds are just nasty. Those coming from Frmboyinthecity should be much, much better, since they come from "normal" for the breed stock, not highly selected parent lines.
The BBB are often pathetic. The recent "development" that has resulted in legs that dislocate and break under the birds' weight, that leads to sudden heart attacks, and that leaves them prone to disease as they have to sleep on the floor, makes me sick. Yet I don't have enough lifetime left to start with pure heritage stock and select one generation per year to develop meatier birds. This is my second year of reverse engineering. I still have heavy boned birds, but they can fly a few feet up. Others are full heritage, small and light. It will probably take one more year of crossing in BB to get breeding stock.
Understand why you're going that route... much respect for what you're doing and why...

Yep, I think frmboyinthecity's will do well for you, it's too hard for me to even look at those 'special bred' meat birds of any kind... :/

Got a bad feeling splash #2 is going to be a cull. Severe case of stargazing, rattly breathing, loud distressed cheeping. All others are very strong, but this one not looking good
