They rinse their food as they eat and end up getting way too much amprolium than is good for them... and ducks have no need of it...

The black on the left is a male, if it is one of Katherine's chicks. A barred hen with a solid colored male makes a black sex-link, and you can tell the males at hatch by the white dot on the head. It should grow up to be barred like its mother.
