The corner braces let me assemble it in the kitchen where it was warm while I was sick, and knock it down by removing six screws into panels.
The sliding doors are $8 adjustable window screens. They and the OSB doors are also hinged, so I can open the full front of each level to remove the wire tray, or can open the slider just a few inches to add food or replace water.
I do have the schematics, and for once I actually followed them until I started ad-libbing.
The top door is hinged differently due to variations in the existing coop wall.

Sorry!! I keep forgetting you do get it from both Halves, lol... and he posts EVERYTHING, even when I tell him NOT to!! *sigh* Hope your daughter feels better soon...:gah: Hit by cuteness by both HalvesI was tempted to do my usual "Want but can't have" thing over on FB, but thought better of it... I told my older daughter that she doesn't have to share *everything*--she was throwing up all afternoon yesterday, and sure enough...
So here is my duplex brooder:![]()
There are 71 one week old chicks in the upper unit and they cover about 25% of the floor space. They decided to be shy for the camera, except one Lav Am up front. Temps in the box range from very cool to warm and cozy and they are free to move around. Just in time, too, as there are 27 more Easter Eggers hatching tomorrow, and I still have about 18 underperformers inside getting a chance to advance without competition, and another 60 turkeys hatching over the next couple of weeks.
That's just cruel... he can't even pock it up anymore...They are hiding under the snow shovel....![]()
