Ok, got a serious question for all of you. Having Baylor problems and need to know what is fair to pay someone else to incubate eggs for me?

Good luck with your bator issues and contract hatching. I've done it a time or two, different deals, depending on customer. Do what you think is fair to you both.

I just made the most amazing... Steak and Cheddar Duck egg omlette... Straight out of the ducks butt...yummmmmmy..... Well there is both a race and a baseball game on today..... Race Trump's ballgame though.... But I'll peek in at the score on and off.... Tomorrow is go to town and buy waders day.... Tuesday is fishing day......

Ok, well not real experienced at incubating but have had really good hatch rates in the past. Must have been beginner's luck maybe. I will probably need to go farther into this thread and study up on what I can. I never did candling except to make sure they were actually growing twice and that's about it. Never really monitored humidity either, just kept my troughs full, so I guess I got some learning to look for before I put them in. I had an ancient little giant that was exceptional. That's the one the mouse tore up of course. Had a hen that would hatch 13 out of 13 every time, but she got old and eventually passed on. So now, I'm winging it

Couple things here, I live in Southern LA, so I have found that to make the air cells grow how they're supposed to, I never have needed any water in my bator until day 18 sometimes 19. Your needs might be ddrastically different and that's why we recommend candling on certain days, 7, 10 and 14 usually, to track the water loss or the growth of the A.Cell. I had a Little giant 9300, and I hated that thing, my first set it fried 21 duck eggs. Sounds like u had the older 92, with the metal heating element around the inside o the top? Those are better. Is it fan circulated? How many eggs will you set? Somtimes it's overlooked how much it helps to put the bator in the most stable environment possible. I asked about the type bator specifically because With that square style you could instead of rotating side to side, go side, back, side, front and rotate thru all planes of the egg just be sure u go at an odd number because the eggs shouldn't sit n the same position two nights in a row, youll do fine!! Its become so much a part of some of our routines that we withdraw when there's no eggs in the bator

Speaking of eggs in the bator, I got home to find the Spot Check showing 104.8. I'm afraid these are all history. Humidity was like 50% too, so I'm going to wait until dark and check the eggs again.
