Beautiful! I love the big run, too!

So my wife has been stressing about how many chickens we have, (and we only have about 30.) Due to zoning laws, we are allowed up to 50 on our lot. But she was worried about how many chickens we had and what we'd do with all the eggs.

We've sold some, and although it is nice to cover the cost of feed, it is a bit of a pain to put up with people until you build up a regular clientele base. Anyways, I ended up contacting the local food pantry and it turns out they are very happy to have any excess eggs over what I can sell. So now I've got the green light to get more chickens!

That's awesome! But how did you finagle that? Who did u get the green light from?

Why would Phil take a duck fishing

She can swim in the waves from his waders that we haven't got to see a picture of yet! And she'll help him catch a big one! Then again she might be bait. No no better leave her home!

Good luck!! :fl
It's called crossbeak... his is a mild form... could be genetic or bator issues, but either way best not to breed... :/

We had to destroy an Easter Egger chick at 2 weeks old last September....it's beak was severe. The hubby took care of it...

X2.  In some cases it stays mild, in others it gets progressively worse as they grow until they can't eat.  :(

His was straight just not close completely but now this past 2 days it's shifting...

You couldn't eat this adorable little duck and you know it!

Then you'd have to deal with momma! Lol

Yup... we had one once... mixed his feed with yogurt in a deep dish... he ate fine, but then he finally figured out he was a boy and tried to breed my girls... :/

He's obviously a boy too! This sucks you guys! I guess I'm gonna have to learn to toughen up!

Drunk frog Queen. I was crowned Sunday after a couple rather drunken posts after a Rascal Flatts concert. I promise to be a lazy, useless ruler.

Rascal Flatts! So jealous! A queen is a queen is a queen!

Thank you Oz

Shows you how sucky it is to hatch at altitude.

Went through almost all the high altitude threads on BYC today to see if I missed anything. (Nope.) Read some studies, again. No help.

Oh well.

I made those little roosts out of the timbers!! Well, the hubby cut them for me. The landscaping timbers were on sale for $1.97 a piece! I picked up 7 of them! Made the big one, which they don't like yet but they're starting to sit on the little one and had Brice precut the last timbers for one more short one which I haven't made yet. There's one more section not built yet.. their supposed to be 3 seperate pens eventually but I sure like the one big roomy one! But they can't free range so for now I'm leaving it big. Michaela graduates from school next month so money shifts for her pArty invitations, etc til after her big event!

I like the roosts. High School graduation was one of those happy/sad moments for us. We get to do it one last time next year. My wife will be a basket case. :D

So it's just eggs that go through an altitude change, correct?
