I see, I think the first book is Clash of Kings.. But I could be mistaken. I do understand, I am horrible in book stores.

Close - that was book 2. The first book is "A Game Of Thrones" - then A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows,A Dance with Dragons and supposedly The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring are forthcoming. The whole series is "A Song of Ice and Fire" collectively.

Good morning Deb and frogs. Been trying to follow along but haven't felt like posting much.

Took my dad for a drive up into the Jemez to Valles Caldera, Los Alamos, and Bandelier yesterday. He can't walk very long so we didn't hike to the ruins, but went through the visitors center. He loved it. Such a gorgeous day with the typical brilliant blue NM sky.

All 13 Barnies are doing well and will go to their new home tomorrow afternoon.

I cheated - I have them sitting in front of me on a bookshelf I can see from where I sit to surf. That is something I've thought of too - what if he dies before he gets the next book(s) written???? I see photos of him out here and there and think, "What are you doing, man, you should be home writing!"

you and I may be kindered spirits. Did you ever read the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan? That man wrote a series with 14 books, 20 some years. He died before he finished. They hired another author, and he did a good job, but it wasn't the same.

Hmmmm, I have not read them - though now I feel a need to. I'd always question everything in the books written by the new author because you would wonder if that was *really* what was supposed to happen, ya know?

Thing 1 is named Anne with an E for a reason
It is a good series, not anywhere near as dark as Game of Thrones. It is also a much easier read. But despite that it is a good series, the main character is flawed and grows through the series. It, like Game of thrones, follows many characters, some who are hilarious. But the line between good and evil is much clearer than in the Wheel of Time series.
ETA: Exuse me, I meant the Wheel of Time series has a much clearer line between good and evil, then the Game of throne series.
And yes I agree, I do not think the original author would have wrote everything as the new author did. I know he had notes to follow, but there are some details in the end I did not care for
