French frogs

Thank you All for the Abundant well wishes! I read them, every last note! Im cool jus thingsve been tough.

To the show is totally epic....
I worried about Stephen King with the Dark Tower series... Has anyone read that series..... I started reading it when I was going through my bone marrow transplant..... Totally awesome book series.... Dark and mind blowing.
What's it about?....

I've really wanted to read the Game o Thrones series but lil brother, who has em all, moved away :hit guess I'll have to go buy em myself...

I Have read The Dark Tower series and I absolutely Loved it! Been too many years, I might have to go restart now that u have The Gunslinger on my mind. The Talisman is my favorite work by him tho, followed closely by Black House, and The Dreamcatcher in a tie... I've read A Lot of his work, even pen names, and short stories :hide

Least liked: Geralds Game, now who's read That?!

Close - that was book 2.  The first book is "A Game Of Thrones" - then A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows,A  Dance with Dragons and supposedly The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring are forthcoming.  The whole series is "A Song of Ice and Fire" collectively.

That is what I get for trying to remember off the top of my head :/ I am really hoping he finishes the series before he dies...I have had that happen
Yes you could

:lau you and I may be kindered spirits. Did you ever read the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan? That man wrote a series with 14 books, 20 some years. He died before he finished. They hired another author, and he did a good job, but it wasn't the same.

What's it about?....

I started to read the dark tower, but never got past book 1. I agree it did seem good, but Stephen King is one of those authors you really need to be in the right mind set for, and I wasn't at the time. I do mean to read it someday.
It is a sci-fi fantasy series (my favorite) that says time runs in a cycle, at the end of each cycle a hero battles the dark one. As long as the dark one loses the cycle continues. It starts with the hero as a young boy and him being chased, to be turned or killed, by the dark ones followers. There is magic but the Males who can wield magic all go mad so it is dominated by women, they take the powers away from the men, but that eventually kills them. Because he is the hero he also has powers so part of his many problems is slowly sinking into madness. It really is pretty goof, but not quite the same level as Game of Thrones.

Funny story this brought to the forefront o my mind; I read the Pet Cemetery too young, I was only like 13 but the librarian knew me, my maturity level, and we thought itd b ok... I wasn't prepared for how much his words can bring things to life, and ended up sleeping in my closet w all the lights on for a whole week! :gig

Gerald's game was weird, but Deloris Clayborne was OK. By far favorite of his is IT, followed by the Shining. It ranks in my top 10 favorites.

ETA: Buy the series, you will not regret it.

Weird indeed! I saw the IT movie before the book so I only got a half good read on it, might oughta retry it.

The shinning was good, but I tell u, his take on time travels absolutely sucks me in.

I guess I will b buying it, it'll give me something good to do n the pool this summer :D

I did not watch the movie until a couple years later, awful. Carrie was good. I did not care for Christine, Firestarter was good.

ETA: I went through a long Stephen King faze in my teens :D

Howdy Farm boy..... Good luck on this hatch..... Even though my hatch rate wasn't stellar I'm pleased with my four little ducks..... Was just playing with one of them.... Trying to get then used to being handled.....

Just keep your hands low when reaching for them... scoop from under instead of above... my OH keeps forgetting that and wonders why they run away when a huge hand comes down from above, lol...

Lovely, lazy Sunday sounds nice.  Did you have good weather?

Thanks, OFW!  I buy all my books on my Nook or from Amazon.  Going into an actual bookstore is too tempting.  I have no willpower.

Weekend was good, thanks.  Great weather!  Spent Saturday helping my friend shop.  I've got a duck with bumblefoot & another with an eye infection.  It sure is a struggle to catch them & I hate the fact that I'm scaring the bejeebers out of them.

Poor duckies, and Deb! Hope they both get better quick... :)

Good morning Deb and frogs. Been trying to follow along but haven't felt like posting much.

Took my dad for a drive up into the Jemez to Valles Caldera, Los Alamos, and Bandelier yesterday. He can't walk very long so we didn't hike to the ruins, but went through the visitors center. He loved it. Such a gorgeous day with the typical brilliant blue NM sky.

All 13 Barnies are doing well and will go to their new home tomorrow afternoon.

:hugs

Glad the Barnie hatch went so well... :)
