French Maran Chick 7 weekd, is ot a cockerel?

Hi, I have no prior experience of chicks so hence asking here. We got these hatching eggs from a local farm. Two were labelled French maran. This is one of the chicks (in one of the pics the other is behind it) we are thinking it is a cockerel but it doesn't look dark enough yet to be a wheaten cockerel? Will dark feathering come over time? Thanks in advance!
(Sorry difficult to get good pics as they are always on the go!)

Thank you this is a better pic (still not great) of the other one. Its much lighter than the other and more shy so difficult to get pics

That one looks like a pullet, but the thing to look for is black feathers in the breast area. If you see some black or blackish feathers there you will know you have a cockerel.

It means one female and one male. And I agree, the new pictures make it clear that the second bird is a pullet.
