I'm not sure where to ask this but we processed some chickens a few months ago. Last Tuesday I put one in the fridge to defrost but I never had a chance too cook it. It's been about 9 days is it still good to eat? Also what degree and how long should I cook it?

Chicken usually gets whiffy when it starts spoiling. A lot depends on how cold your refrigerator is. For me, I probably would cook it up for my dogs, but that's just me.

Thats what I was afraid of. I didnt put my nose to it when i put it in the oven but i didnt notice any smell. Its cooking right now and it smells good. I can always just feed it to the dogs though but I really hate throwing out food.

So? How was it? If you don't post I will have to assume you are on the floor with your face in a grimace and your body contorted from being poisoned by the bird.
