Here's a weird thing that happened today. I just wanted to share as we have been talking about how to maintain some level of security. ANd why I like that you are not posting real names and addresses.

I had been emailing with a potential customer via CL, determining how many and when, etc. THen off to a soccer game, and when we returned a car was in the drive waiting for us. I greeted the folks. Scared on the inside, but needing to be friendly to potential customers. The people had shown up at my house with out confirming the day the time or the address. Somehow they found my address, I had not given it out to them yet.

I would ask them where they got it, unless they got your name, then they can find your address on the internet for sure. I'd just tell them your first name from now on, and decide where and when to meet them to pick up eggs. Somewhere close but not your place, somewhere public.

I trust nothing bad happened?!

Everything went just fine. My husband was with me. And the fellow actually had his wife and famiy with him. It just freaked me out that someone could find me so easily. I thought CL kept the email address anonymous. Maybe I need to google myself and see what shows up. Good thing I do have a few rotties!

I really would rather meet people elsewhere , if only to keep extra poultry germs away!

Arielle, if you used a landline phone they can google it and get your location. If you have your full name they can google it and get your location. If you own your home and they have your name, public records search will turn back your address thanks to property taxes.

Which is why almost everything is hidden under my DH name and not mine. THat's what is so freaky.

How is the testing going?? Are you getting as many trial users as you anticipated? I wonder if this was moved from the GFM section to a general section the traffic may increase. Just a thought. Only golden member, and plat members?, can see it.

We actually ran into a few problems for going mainstream into the forum so were currently trying to work those out. We're hoping to get the bugs fixed for the rest of the forum to be able to use it as well
