I haven't a clue why
the eggs are fresh laid by my buff orps, in an egg turner but the air cells are developing on the side instead of the top.
has anyone a clue why or ever experienced this??

That's odd. When you incubate, do you lay the eggs on their sides?

I have no idea what would cause them to be detached, but I'd treat them like shipped eggs and incubate them upright in an egg carton, either all the way thru until hatch or once the air cells stay put. Good luck.
