Had the chance to try my first real fresh tuna! Picked up a tiny 11lb albacore tuna earlier this week and will be polishing it off tonight. Bought it right off a boat at the docks in newport OR. Guy was totally friendly and the 90 mile trip was so worth it! Next time I HAVE to buy a bigger fish and eat more of it raw!

The raw fish makes me drool:

I've tried to look at that picture and think that it looks yummy. I just can't. The thought of putting that in my mouth makes my stomach churn. I am not cut out for sushi!

I haven't had good sushi since i moved back east. Forgot how much I loved it. Eat some for me, will you?

You should try some good sushi, there are many types of rolls that are fully cooked!

It's sad to think the whole thing will be gone so fast between just two people! I'll gladly eat some for everyone!

Ever see that show, Monsters Inside Me? I swear half of those people get thier "little friends" from eating raw fish. Not for me.

It's a tiny tiny itty bitty small risk with ocean fish that is totally worth taking for how deliciously moist and smooth raw meat is.

However, NEVER eat raw fresh water fish! That will give you some good worms alright.

If you eat raw fish in a restaurant, in the US at least, fish meat must be frozen down to a really low temp, -46F I think, for some period of time, minimum 2 days or so, to kill parasites, so the only risk there is a bad chef who doesn't practice sanitary kitchen conditions.
