On our cruise to the Bahamas, we ordered the salmon tartare, not quite sure what it meant. I had an inkling, but it wasn't until someone at a nearby table exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, the salmon is raw!" that we knew for sure. It was good, but not something I would choose to eat again. Enjoy your tuna!

Mmmm raw salmon... never had a salmon tarare though. Googled some pictures and it looks delightful!

I love finger foods and little portions of tasters. Probably why I like sushi and Dim sum so much! It's like you can just "snack" for your entire meal!

Personally I don't care for the flavors in most sushi, nor the texture of the raw fish. I don't even care for California rolls. However, as one who has lived near the coast for most of her life, I can tell you that tuna looks AWESOME! My favorite seafood of all time is shark, light meaty flavor you just can't get anywhere else. Not so easy to come by fresh unless we drive down to the beach.

Oh, and crab legs - the REAL ones.

I need to buy salmon tomorrow night.

Tartar means put through a grinder. If you don't like mushy food, you will not enjoy it. However, if it is fish dish, you can squirt lime on it and let it sit for a bit and that absorbs some of the mushiness, kinda like natural "cooking".

Generally I'm on a "see food" diet, as I tend to eat anything that is eatable...or questionable at best. LOL

I might have to try it sometime even if it is mushy!

I LOVE crab. Shoot.. what seafood don't I like? If my mom decides not to make soup from that tuna head, it's going to the bottom of Yaquina bay to catch crabs! Dungeness are great for their chunks of meat, but I find red rocks to be sweeter in flavor. From the dock, I've only managed 5 legal dungenous crabs in the 2 years I've discovered crabbing. I need to get on a boat, but thats $$$.

The last 4 hr trip off the docks; 2 legal dungies and a pile of red rocks:
