I’ve recently started getting some rotten eggs from my flock. I know they are fresh but when I crack them open, they stink and are black. I’m worried now that people I’ve given eggs to will have rotten ones! I’ve seen some posts on this with no for sure cause but am really concerned that I have a hen with an infection. I’ve also recently started noticing mouse droppings in my coop. I’ve put out traps but am still seeing them. I’ve been freaked out about both of these things and now am wondering if they could be related? My hens act healthy but could one have an infection from mice? Or could mice be somehow contaminating the eggs after they’re laid? I collect everyday so there’s not much of an opportunity but I am baffled by the rotten eggs and really hoping it’s not a terminal problem in one of my hens. Not sure if this is even a possibility, but any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated!
