Frey's Dual Purpose

Hey everyone,

I've got 17 Frey's Dual Purpose chickens that are 4 weeks old now. I decided to go with this breed because everything I read said they are rock solid (low mortality etc). The plan is to process 13 of them, and keep 3 for laying as well as one rooster. Does anyone have experience with keeping this breed to lay? What kind of production can I expect?

Sorry, I have not had any of that breed. I do know, though, that dual purpose breeds will lay less eggs. Maybe 3 a week. That's what my hens do, anyway.

Hey JP, how'd you like the Frey's Dual purpose birds? I am looking for a good meat bird option other than franken-chickens and I can pick up Frey's chicks at my mill.
