friend is not going to be pleased

yesterday(wed. 8/3/11) two of friend's golden chickens missing-4 left, 2 gold 2 brown. Not sure about how something could get in/out thru 1 in. crack (esp. taking the chickens with it.) two indistinct trails of feathers, one ending in a pile of feathers and the remains of a head and neck(feathers linked together and remains of a beak);

and the other one very faint, down 5 or 6 stone steps and trailing off in a side yard.not sure where it goes.

Hmmm, sounds like our story. We had a two inch crack that we think a weasel got into, and took two chickens, left the rest dead. Very sorry the chickens got taken!

How awful for you and the chickens! I am always amazed at the persistance of predators and how they get into the tiny spaces they do. Maybe its time to reinforce the coop. Good luck and I am sorry for your loss.
