friendliest breed

I have a pair of wonderful black cochins. My two little girls 6 and 3 pick them up all the time. Put them in wagons and hall then all over. The Roo is even not bad at being picked up. I do have some silkies and their is one white one that is a doll.

I have very limited experience but my Faverolle roo is about as sweet as I can image a roo could be. He is never aggressive toward humans and with other chickens, he only defends himself when cornered. He is never the aggressor.

I had one mean rooster and he is gone now. He was a RIR banty.

His son, a RIR banty x EE cross is as sweet as they come. My Maran rooster is just as sweet. Now I also have a fravolle (sp?) is just a youngster but still sweet.

I can not say that any of my hens are friendlier than any of the others. They all come running when I call, I can pick them up rather easily. I have bo, rir, nhr, slw, maran, and fravoelle- nobody is jump in my lap friendly, but I didn't handle them everyday as chicks. They are all eat out of my hand friendly though. Sometimes when I am not even offering them food.

I think belgian quail d anver are the most friendly and maybe the smallest .
