Friendliest duck breeds

Ok! Thank you so its not the breed its the bird itself! What are your khakis name. Here are all of mine my rouens name is fenix we spell it differant and my pekins name is Junou my khakis name is shadow springfield sheyann and khaki

I have Saxony, khaki Campbell, runners, Pekin, Welsh harlequin, Cayuga, swedish, and Muscovy. I do agree all can be friendly, but the most social I have, have been the Cayuga. They maintain their social attitude more so than other ducks we have raised during their teen stage. I would also say Saxony are a close second on being more social. They just get very very hormonal when broody. My Saxony drake ironically was the least social duckling I had, and is my most social duck. He regularly let's us pet him, granted it is only for a few seconds or so.

From what I understand Muscovy can be extremely social when hand raised. Mine are fairly social considering I got them at 9 weeks of age. They are the most likely to spend time with us, but do not like being handled.

All of my ducks will eat out of my hand and spend time with me. Some will go in cycles to depending on what is going on in the flock. Like during molting, they are less social. Also the more you handle them and spend time with them, the more social they become.

Runners have been the most skiddish. Swedish are friendly, but they care more about foraging than being social. Swedes are a very calm breed. They both have wonderful personalities, but they tend to be less social.

The other breeds are in the middle.

we’ve had pekins, khakis and blue swedish. Our khakis and blues are definitely more skittish. Our pekins seem to be more interactive with us and less scared. They’ve all been raised together so I don’t know if it’s a personality thing or what but our pekins are definitely more into us than the others. But yes, as others have mentioned treats are the way to go! Our khakis will come and eat right out of my hand full of treats.
