Shadow looked at her, then put his paw near the water as a fish came by. It came up and it sank his claws into it, quickly flashing it out of the water and onto the ground, killing it.

Ice padded into the place he had usually slept.

(Okay. Are they even planning an attack on the other packs?)
Maya watched and tried again. She got one out of the water, and killed it, but she had put a lot more effort than Shadow had. She looked at him, then back at the fish. She smiled.
