I don't really have a true friend. Hubby and I don't get along most of the time (but do agree, for the most part, on the critters). My Kid's too young. My sisters have their own lives and want nothing to do with farm animals. I have a good friend half a country away but she's "in love" with a horrible man so I'm just biding my time because she will need me (again) soon (but doesn't care about critters like I do). I just reconnected with a high school friend after 30 years but she's a city girl, half a country away. There's no one nearby.

Geez, that's really sad. I'd like to have someone to talk with on the phone or e-mail regularly about critters and self-reliance and autistic/problem kids ... but have no one. Anybody near in rural Elbert County in Colorado?

Yeah, I need a friend or two. I had a lot of work to do today but spent most of my time on BYC. That's really sad.

Oh, and I am slightly agoraphobic.

Sigh.

In my experience, folks who judge you for your animals are looking for ways to degrade you in their eyes. Its a way to criticize something about you they don't understand or appreciate, in order for them to feel superior over you.

You know you take excellent care of your animals, so do the people who really know and count. The criticism hurts, but its completely out of the realm of truth.
