After searching high and low, I've finally found some Polish eggs to hatch!

Our white Polish chicken, Jadwiga, is too beautiful for her peers (see majestic pic of her in a tree) and so they bully her incessantly. We've separated her and built her a Palace of her own, and now it's time to hatch some new friends for her! We got 7 eggs. The goal is 1 pullet, so hopefully we get at least that!

Here are pictures of the parents. It will be exciting to see what the chicks look like. The rooster is the frizzled one.

I thought it would be fun to post the eggs' progress. I've read a lot of the pinned posts and forums here about incubating, so hopefully we get some chicks in a few weeks! I'm excited, and so is my son! He is 3 and can't wait to meet the chicks!

Well into day 2 and everything seems to be going well! I’m planning on doing a teeny tiny candling after 72 hours just to double check fertility; I’m just super excited! But if that’s a bad idea I can be patient too haha

Had a big storm last night, and lost power for about 10 minutes. The ironic part? I had the incubator plugged into a backup power source, but due to user error it didn’t work 🤦🏻‍♀️ fortunately I think only 10 minutes isn’t too bad for the eggs to be without heat.
