Haha nope after this last batch is hatched out-no more buying eggs for me this year:) I need to start incubating more of my own to increase flock sizes and work on them some:) thank goodness. Chicken feed $ because I go through 150 lbs a week and its going to get worse before it gets better-and the electric bills from all the brooder heating lights and heaters for coops etc...wowser!!!

Yep, we worked hard the last two days. We only get one week a month where we have the same days off together, and they were gorgeous days this week, so we made the best of it.

No no, I appreciate a analytical eye. To bad you can't have roosters, with that kind of attention to fine detail you would make an excellent breeder of poultry as well.

Tab's chicken obsession :

I may not have posted on the thread that much, but I enjoyed the comaderie of a great group of people that met through BYC. I'm putting a shout out for the sharks and dots.
What are your thoughts?

Welcome NEW shark!!!!

Hi gang. I'd be hatching but I'm overrun with chickens! I need to downsize or build another coop/pen. However, hubby, of all people, saw that Chickenzoo has some Polish that were sired by my departed Polish roo who we miss. So now he's wondering about getting some Polish eggs that are at least 1/2 "Ivan". I would not mind if she could get me some that would be 1/2 Ivan child and 1/2 gold laced , even if the color would be kinda funky, LOL

The 3 of their "moms" right now are being gang attacked by my current roo and 4 other hens, the gang surrounding her and pecking away. I put those sweet Polish girls in a big pen of their own. Three of the attackers have been in the same flock with the Polish without problems, till now. The roo shouldn't be doing it. How nasty!

Last week my mare was in heat and dumped me twice in one day. I had a mild concussion, and did have a helmet on. I went and bought some leather seat breeches, now I am literally glued into the saddle, and have the "edge". And she gets Mare Magic to calm her down a bit. Sheesh, it just made me mad, not scared or upset. Mad at me, not at her. I've ridden her a few times since then, and she is better cause she can't lose me!
