Hi Chickaholic! Sorry you lost one of your chickens, it always bums me out, too.

What's wrong with the other 2?

Of course you're supposed to post here! I'm glad to see another adult has decided to join our group - it seems like there's been a recent invasion of teenagers and we were becoming outnumbered. They often delete these huge threads when they do spring clean-up because they take up so much server space and we lose some of our post count, but it's no big deal.

I'm not sure whats wrong with the other two yet, but I am medicating them to high heaven right now!! So we will see,

I don't really see any change in them today from yesterday, thats probably normal though

They were in the coop with the one that passed so I am banking on whatever she had they have to now. I made a huge mistake this year and got some pullets and a roo from a lady I didn't know, turns out they were all sick accept a couple, and the roo is injured (he came to me like that) but the one that died seemed fine and then all of a sudden she was not, it was weird!!

I really hope this is the worst of it. Thanks for answering back I was beginning to think I really wasn't supposed to post anything in here

Of course you're welcome in here. Hence the title. If there wasn't a cat on top of me biting my hand every time I try to type, I would have more to say. This itself has taken quite the time to type.

Found the kittie's weakness! Tickle the paw! Oh now! Surprise attacckkk She's sitting on the keyboard. And back to biting my hand, oh wait, back to the keyboard. Now to subtler techniques. I have a paw on my nose.

It's an expensive and heartbreaking lesson.

I feel your pain - I went through that myself last year. I bought birds that looked perfectly healthy, I even quarantined them, but the rest of my flock got sick. Now I don't buy birds from anyone, no matter what. If I want to expand my flock, I buy hatching eggs.

I'm glad you joined us - don't be nervous, this is a fun group! My name's Karen but everyone on here calls me Belle. I'm married and I have 3 kids: 10, 8 and 4 and I'm pregnant with #4 (due in November). I've had chickens for a little over 2 years now. Nice to meet you!

My cats used to walk all over my desk. I hate when they'd stand in front of the monitor and I couldn't see. I'd pick them up and put them on the floor, but they'd hop right back up.

Foolproof solution: 4 months ago we got a Shepherd/Chow/Akita mix from the pound and she chases cats. They barely come upstairs anymore since we got the Wonder Mutt.

I can't believe you unpacked an entire household already.

You're my hero.

Almost. There are two boxes in our room yet to be unpacked. I cannot STAND boxes around the house - that is why I took vacation this week. Almost all the pictures and decorations are hung on the walls too. Baking cookies tomorrow. Making pork chops for dinner too. We haven't eaten a decent meal since last Thursday.

I can't wait to see the little darlings!! We got them for a homeschooling project and also because we were tired of the sicknesses and decided to hatch out and raise our own.

Welcome Anita. Your screen name must be very similar to another that has been here a while. Sorry I didn't welcome you sooner!!! I am one of the old ladies of this thread.

My kids are grown yet not gone, even though we torture them with yard work and house work on a daily basis. What does it take to make a person leave?!?!?!

Welcome, newcomer to this ridiculous and long-winded thread.... (caution: beware of p-nut and boyd.... they are crazy in the worst possible extreme! but miss belle, miss michelle and sassy ((and me of course!)) are just fine!)
