20 Mule Team Borax, it's on the laundry soap aisle at the grocery store. Safe for all pets and even babies. Sprinkle it on the carpets and furniture, anywhere the cats or dogs are and wait 30 minutes. Don't worry about walking on it, it won't hurt a thing. then just vaccum it up. the borax makes a gas that kills the fleas and their eggs. the cats get the gas on their fur and the fleas won't get on them outside. Any fleas that do make it inside will die.

The borax is safe for babies to crawl in, won't hurt the vaccum, and is a natural deoderizer too. I sprinkled it in my beauty bark flower beds too, just to be safe. Never a flea with 3 dogs and 5 cats.

A couple of fancy ex show horses at the barn get a full body shave every winter so they won't burn to death when she keeps a blanket on them until spring.

Yup!! Breago gets SO fuzzy! He really doesn't need a blanket. It's so fun to hug him when he's like that! And sometimes after a cold ride, I just lay my hands on him and they're warm again! I'll have to get a picture when he fluffs up like a cotton ball.

hi boo, hi shell, hi all you crazy chickeners....

fleas are bad this year here boo. I put that frontline stuff on my dogs and cats...the drops between the shoulder blades that my vet said is supposed to last at one time every 60 days and then there was immunity to it so then it was told to people to reapply after 30 days but now there's even more immunity to it and I was spotting fleas before the 30 days were up. I know I've seen the drops being sold at farm and fleat but I think what Michelle offered sounds like a great idea too. I just wanted to pipe in and tell you the fleas are bad this year with the temps. the way they were.

I haven't moved yet... but it's still on my to-do list. gotta confirm the new location, meeting with a lender and making a plan for selling the house and making a fresh start.

hey shell, my friend was telling me that everyone in Alaska gets something like 6000 duckets a year for living there on behalf of the oil drillers or some such thing---really? What's the scoop? So are you saying me and my kids should move to Alaska???

I have a new man in my life, Tom, we are flying to New Orleans then cruising to Mexico and then driving up to Nashville-ish.

We are thinking of moving out of the wind tunnel and relocating a little to the left of where we live now.

Alaskans get a Permanent Fund Dividend, paid out in October of each year. When the oil companies paid the state for the oil the money was invested. Every year the interest is divided amongst the population, this year we each got $1282. This year I used it to pay for Nic's knee, or, at least, the portion that wasn't covered by insurance. I think that knee is approaching $60,000 now. <sigh>
