Friends Welcome

Ella found a packet of Swedish Fish in my desk drawer. (How did she do that when I've been looking for those?!) She wanted to eat them, but I said no, they're mine and didn't the Easter bunny bring her a basket FILLED with candy yesterday?

A few minutes later she set her entire Easter basket in front of me, then reached for the Swedish fish.

It was awesome, I met another mom for coffee bright and early, got my grocery shopping for the week done and then picked up my kids and some chicks and went to said friends house for a massive easter egg hunt (they dyed 400 eggs!) then we brought the chicks out for show and tell. The little kids loved the little fuzzies (and the big kids thought they were pretty cool too

)

Then we packed up the chickies nad headed to my mom's new apartment and I made a big Easter Dinner, my niece brought her baby over when she got off work and we had a great dinner, played with chicks some more, cleaned up mom's kitchen and headed home.

How was yours?

Freaky as in how? I was just sitting here in the car looking up at the sky. I seen some strange looking clouds, so I took a picture. Grey and wavy like- but it's sunny out. Next thing I know there are teeny tiny hail pieces coming down. Smaller than a pea, but still. Now it's sunny again.

Gotta love Iowa

This is Alaska, wait 5 minutes or drive 5 miles and you can have entirely different weather. So far, warm-ish (37*) and windy, but the wind isn't too cole so I'll take it. It helps wick the moisture off the ground so the snow and slush will dry out and melt faster.

My Easter was just another day of travel aftermath.

Saturday my first flight as 2.5 hours late.

That set the tone for the rest of the day. Different route, different airline, change terminals in San Francisco, go through security again. Flight is now SF to Phoenix to St. Louis. Even though the flight from St. Louis is a continuation of the flight from SF to Phoenix we had to change planes with a layover. We all get on the plane and there are problems with the plane. They work on the problem. We deplane and change planes.

I finally get to St. Louis at about 1 in the morning Sunday. My original flight arrival time was about 5:45 Saturday afternoon. Spent the night in the St. Louis area. Got home about 1:00 Sunday afternoon. Too tired to do anything, dehydrated, and generally not feeling very perky.

No kids around, no grandkids. Really missed family.

Just didn't seem like Easter and celebrating the resurrection.

But it was still Easter.
